IIT Delhi begins the admission process for various courses as per different timelines. IIT Delhi will release the official schedule for admission in various courses on its official website. For M.Tech

IIT Delhi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2019

The candidates must have passed B.Tech degree + GATE score is required for M.Tech admissions at IIT Delhi.

IIT Delhi M.Tech Selection Process 2019

Firstly, IIT Delhi will determine the GATE cutoff to shortlist the candidates for admission in M.Tech admission. For some specializations in M.Tech, direct admission is granted as per the GATE cutoff of IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi conducts interviews for some M.Tech specializations, and the candidates must clear the interview for securing admission.

IIT Delhi Scholarships

Students enrolled in various courses are offered financial assistance or scholarships. The scholarships schemes offered by IIT Delhi help students to cover academic and other expenses during the tenure of the programme/ course. Students must satisfy the eligibility criteria specified by the Institute for scholarship schemes. The list of various scholarship schemes offered by IIT Delhi can be checked below:

  • One scholarship every year to a 1st-year student of the undergraduate programmes on the basis of MCM having family income not exceeding Rs. 6.0 LPA
CS&E 1998 Batch Scholarship
  • One scholarship is awarded to a 2nd-year student from Computer Science & Engineering on the basis of MCM. The student shall not be a recipient of any other scholarship.
Gobind H. Keswani Scholarship
  • One MCM scholarship every year to a first-year student of UG programme admitted through IIT JEE having family income not exceeding Rs. 5 LPA. Renewal subject to maintaining SGPA of 7.0
Indian Women’s Association Bonn Scholarship
  • One scholarship is awarded to an Ist year UG student on the basis of MCM (Parental income upto0 Rs.5.0 LPA).
  • Renewal subject to maintain CGPA of 7.00and earning at least 45 credits every year
  • If the student selected is already in receipt of any other scholarship/ financial assistance he/she will be given the option to choose this scholarship or the other one.
Nirmala Devi Raghunath Das Sarin Scholarship
  • One scholarship is awarded to 2nd-year B.Tech student of Textile Technology on the basis of MCM having CGPA of 6.0 or more
  • The student with the lowest means will be awarded the scholarship. The student shall not be a recipient of any other scholarship.

The first phase placements start in the first week of December, and 70% of students secure jobs during this phase. The placement process continues until March/ April, and the candidates can choose the best offer. IIT Delhi provides separate hostel facility for boys and girls. The premier institute is also setting up a separate hostel facility for international students. Campus Area

Each Hostel in the Institute is self-contained with amenities such as a reading room, an indoor games room, a lounge and a dining hall with mess. The computer rooms are under construction. The Dean of Students, in his capacity as the President of the Board for Hostel Management, is the head of the hostel organisation. He is assisted in his administrative responsibilities by the Associate Dean of Students and the Assistant Registrar (Student Affairs). The Board for Hostel Management, the main function of which is to coordinate the working of all the hostels, has representation from all the hostels and takes decisions on all policies of common interest. The administrative head of each hostel, the Warden, is a senior faculty member. There are House Working Committees at the Hostel level. The House Working Committee of each hostel is composed of House Master, Warden, House Secretary, Mess Secretary, Sports Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Maintenance Secretary and Year representatives. It decides the pattern and the pace of life of each House. For operational convenience, the House Working Committee has an Executive Committee and three other Sub-Committees-Mess Committee, Common Room Committee, and House Maintenance & Cleanliness Committee. There is a special Sub-Committee _ House Honours Committee-to deal with disciplinary matters pertaining to each hostel. The deliberations of the House Working Committee in each hostel are governed by the Constitution for the House Working Committees. Working through this responsible body, the students themselves lay down appropriate norms of behaviour to suit different situations and social occasions in the hostels. The individuals respond to the situation and to the role which they are called upon to play through their participation in the community life of their hostel. They begin to learn their role in different groups and observe the patterns of behaviour and attitude which are expected of them.
